  • 4 to 5 fresh mint sprigs
  • 2 sugar cubes (or 1/2 once simple syrup)
  • Crushed ice
  • 2 1/2 oz bourbon whiskey

How to make it

  1. In a julep cup, collins glass, or double old-fashioned glass, place the mint leaves and sugar cubes (or simple syrup).
  2. Muddle well to dissolve the sugar and release the mint’s aromatic oils.
  3. Add crushed ice to fill the glass halfway.
  4. Pour in 2 1/2 ounces of bourbon whiskey.
  5. Stir gently to combine and chill the drink.
  6. Top with more crushed ice until the glass is frosty.
  7. Garnish generously with a fresh mint sprig.
