- 4 to 5 fresh mint sprigs
- 2 sugar cubes (or 1/2 once simple syrup)
- Crushed ice
- 2 1/2 oz bourbon whiskey
How to make it
- In a julep cup, collins glass, or double old-fashioned glass, place the mint leaves and sugar cubes (or simple syrup).
- Muddle well to dissolve the sugar and release the mint’s aromatic oils.
- Add crushed ice to fill the glass halfway.
- Pour in 2 1/2 ounces of bourbon whiskey.
- Stir gently to combine and chill the drink.
- Top with more crushed ice until the glass is frosty.
- Garnish generously with a fresh mint sprig.
