This is Part II in our series of wines from volcanic soils. This time we will focus on the Pacific Northwest region. Volcanic soils are found in several wine-growing regions of the world and are thought to provide distinct, terroir-driven wines. Regions that have vines planted in these distinctive soils produce wines that have a sense of place.
We will discuss the regions of the Pacific Northwest and then taste through a flight of wines to see if we can taste the terroir.
